Gene Information

human ... QKI(9444)

General description

QKI is an RNA-binding protein that plays a central role in myelinization. Acts by regulating pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA export, mRNA stability and protein translation. It is regulated by alternative splicing.

Specificity

QKI-5 (Quaking Protein). The antibody recognizes the ~40 kDa protein.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide from mouse QKI-5.

Application

Detect QKI-5 using this Anti-QKI-5 Antibody validated for use in IP & WB.

MicroRNA (miRNA) biogenesis is finely controlled by complex layers of post-transcriptional regulators, including RNA-binding proteins (RBPs). Here, we show that an RBP, QKI5, activates the processing of primary miR-124-1 (pri-124-1) during erythropoiesis. QKI5 recognizes a distal QKI response element and

Spermatogenesis is the complex process of male germline development and requires coordinated interactions by multiple gene products that undergo strict developmental regulations. Increasing evidence has suggested that a number of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) may function as important regulatory molecules
