Gene Information

Specificity

Recognizes HCN2 protein. The epitope is specific for HCN2 and is not present in any other known protein.

Immunogen

Purified peptide from human HCN2 (amino acids 147-161) (Accession CAB42602).

Application

Research Category
Neuroscience
Research Sub Category
Ion Channels & Transporters
This Anti-HCN2 Antibody is validated for use in IH, WB for the detection of HCN2.
Western blot: 1:200-1:1,000 using ECL on rat brain membranes.

Immunohistochemistry on rat brain sections.

Dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%)

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Physical form

Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Lyophilized from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA, 5% sucrose as a stabilizer and 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. Reconstitute with 50 μL of sterile deionized water. Centrifuge antibody preparation before use (10,000 xg for 5 min).

Storage and Stability

Maintain lyophilized material at -20°C for up to 12 months. After reconstitution maintain at -20°C in undiluted aliquots for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Analysis Note

Control
CONTROL ANTIGEN:

Included free of charge with the antibody is 40 μg of control antigen (lyophilized powder). The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100 μL of sterile deionized water. For negative control, preincubate 1 μg of peptide with 1 μg of antibody for one hour at room temperature. Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.

Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels play essential roles in various hippocampal functions, including regulation of long-term potentiation, synaptic plasticity, and hippocampal-dependent cognitive process. The objective of this study was to investigate age-related changes in HCN1 and HCN2 protein expressions in

Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels mediate hyperpolarization-activated currents (I(h)). In hippocampus, these currents contribute greatly to intrinsic cellular properties and synchronized neuronal activity. The kinetic and gating properties of HCN-mediated currents are largely determined by the type of subunits--for example

The globus pallidus occupies a critical position in the indirect pathway of the basal ganglia motor control system. Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic-nucleotide gated (HCN) channels play an important role in the modulation of neuronal excitability. In vivo extracellular single unit recording, behavioral

The hyperpolarization-activated excitatory current I(h) shapes rhythmic firing and other components of excitability in differentiating neurons, and may thus influence activity-dependent CNS development. We therefore studied developmental changes in I(h) and underlying hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel subunits in pyramidal
