Gene Information

Specificity

Recognizes a glycoprotein of 18.5-22.5kDa, identified as amphiregulin (AR). Antibody is directed against the region of AR, which binds to heparin and is highly specific to AR. It shows no cross-reaction with EGF, TGFalpha, or HB-EGF. In vitro, AR functions as an autocrine growth stimulator to derive proliferation of colon carcinoma cells, normal and oncogene-transformed mammary epithelial cells, cervical carcinoma cells, prostate cancer cells, and keratinocytes. AR is important in development of human placenta and murine mammary gland.

Immunogen

A synthetic 19-mer peptide, corresponding to aa 26-44 from the secreted amphiregulin of human origin.

Application

Immunoprecipitation (Use Protein A): Ab 10μg/mg protein lysate.

Western Blotting: Ab 5μg/ml for 2hrs at room temperature.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
