General description
Tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) is the ethyl ester of ortho silicic acid, which is the most readily available silicon source. It is mainly used as a crosslinking agent in silicon polymer and precursor in the preparation of silicon thin films.
Application
- Effects of Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) on the Light and Temperature Stability of a Pigment from Beta vulgaris and Its Potential Food Industry Applications: This study explores how TEOS can enhance the stability of natural pigments from beets, suggesting potential for improved food colorants (GA Molina et al., 2014).
- Characterization of Chemical Vapor Deposited Tetraethyl Orthosilicate based SiO2 Films for Photonic Devices: The study details the use of TEOS in the production of silicon dioxide films for enhanced photonic device performance (J Kotcharlakota et al., 2016).
- Comprehensive performances of carbon nanotube reinforced foam concrete with tetraethyl orthosilicate impregnation: Research indicates significant enhancements in the structural properties of foam concrete, essential for building technology (J Luo et al., 2017).
- Mesoporous bis (trimethoxysilyl) hexane (BTMSH)/tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)-based hybrid silica aerogel membranes for CO2 capture: Highlights the development of innovative aerogel membranes for effective CO2 capture, contributing to environmental management strategies (YF Lin et al., 2016).
Features and Benefits
TEOScan polymerize in alkaline, acidic, and neutral conditions, making it anadvantageous precursor
