General description

RedAlert stain is used to visualize proteintransferred to membranes prior to Westernblot analysis or protein sequencing by Edmandegradation. RedAlert stain binds reversiblyto proteins on nitrocellulose and PVDFmembranes and can also stain proteins boundto cellulose acetate. The RedAlert Stain bindspositively charged amino groups and nonpolarregions of proteins, resulting in reddish-pinkbands. This stain can be used to verify transferof proteins before immunological detectionon nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes orto detect blood serum proteins on celluloseacetate media. Because the stain is reversible,it is a good choice for detecting proteins priorto protein sequencing or HPLC analysis. Thesensitivity of the stain is approximately 50 ngof protein. The RedAlert Stain is provided as a10X solution.
