General description

Fluorogenic ICE substrate. Reaction can be monitored by a blue to green shift in fluorescence upon cleavage of the AFC fluorophore. AFC (7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin) based fluorometric substrates are superior to AMC (7-amino-4-methylcoumarin) substrates because released AFC has a greater Stoke′s shift than AMC. Excitation/emission maxima (nm) for AFC and AMC are 400/505 and 380/460, respectively.
Fluorogenic caspase-1 substrate. Reaction can be monitored visually or quantitatively by a blue to green shift in fluorescence upon cleavage of the AFC fluorophore.
