Selective inhibitor of TNFα biosynthesis. Blocks basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF)-induced angiogenesis in cornea. An immunomodulator that inhibits replication of the HIV-1 virus. Has been used to treat AIDS-related oral ulcers.
