General description

Polyamine that plays an important role in the regulation of cellular proliferation and differentiation. Acts as an inhibitor of phopholipase C-α and an activator of phopholipase C-δ. Has both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on NMDA receptors depending on the subunit composition of the receptor. Inhibits neuronal NOS. Inhibits DNA fragmentation and morphological apoptosis.

The anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls cell cycle transitions. Its regulation by the spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) is coordinated with the attachment of sister chromatids to the mitotic spindle. APC/C SUMOylation on APC4 ensures timely
