General description

Recognizes the ~100 kDa 19S proteasome S2-subunit in HeLa cells and partially purified 26S proteasome preparations. Also recognizes an ~50 kDa potential subunit degradation product.

Immunogen

Human
recombinant, human 19S proteasome S2-subunit

Application

Immunoblotting (1:1000)

Immunoprecipitation (see comments)

Packaging

Please refer to vial label for lot-specific concentration.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

In PBS, 1 mg/ml BSA.

Reconstitution

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).

Analysis Note

Positive Control
HeLa cells

Other Notes

Also detects an ~50 kDa band, presumably corresponding to a subunit degradation product. This antibody has also been reported to work for immunoprecipitation. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

A key role in the carcinogenic action of Helicobacter pylori is played by the effector protein CagA, the first identified oncoprotein of the bacterial world. However, the present knowledge in regard to the bacterial injection of CagA into epithelial cells

We report that subunits of human nuclear proteasomes carry a previously unrecognised, constitutive posttranslational modification. Subunits with this modification are not visualised by SDS-PAGE, which is used in almost all denaturing protein gel electrophoresis. In contrast, CTAB-PAGE readily visualises such

Uptake, intracellular trafficking and pathologic effects of VacA toxin from Helicobacter pylori have been widely investigated in vitro. However, no systematic analysis investigated VacA intracellular distribution and fate in H. pylori-infected human gastric epithelium in vivo, using ultrastructural immunocytochemistry that
