General description

Recombinant human galectin-1 expressed in and purified from E. coli. Galectins are a family of evolutionarily conserved animal lectins with affinity for β-galactosides that have homologous carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs). Galectin-1 can induce apoptosis of activated T cells and leukemic T cell lines. It also binds to CD45 and inhibits its protein phosphatase activity.
