General description

A cell-permeable and selective inhibitor of the phosphatase complexes that dephosphorylate eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit α (eIF-2α). Shown to offer protection against ER stress-induced apoptosis (EC50 = ~15 µM in PC12 cells stimulated with 750 ng/ml of Tunicamycin (Cat. No. 654380). Prevents HSV replication both in Vero cells (IC50 = ~3 µM for reducing plaque formation) in vitro and in a mouse cornea infection model in vivo. Also available as a 50 mM solution in DMSO (Cat. No. 324897).
