General description
Anti-Aquaporin 5, rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP 5 protein in epithelial tissue extracts. It is validated for ELISA, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.
Immunoaffinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP5 protein.
Recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP 5 protein in epithelial tissue extracts.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to a 17-amino acid sequence in the cytoplasmic region of rat AQP5

Other Notes
Does not cross-react with other AQP proteins. The use of 0.5-1.0% milk in all primary/secondary antibody-enzyme conjugate incubations is recommended in order to suppress non-specific bands. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

Corneas with edema-related diseases lose transparency, which causes significant vision loss. This study analyzed seven aquaporins (AQPs) in normal corneas, pseudophakic/aphakic bullous keratopathy (PBK/ABK) corneas, Fuchs' dystrophy corneas, keratoconus corneas, post-cataract surgery (PCS) corneas, and normal organ-cultured corneas. Salivary glands exert exocrine secretory function to provide saliva for lubrication and protection of the oral cavity. Its epithelium consists of several differentiated cell types, including acinar, ductal and myoepithelial cells, that are maintained in a lineage-restricted manner during homeostasis
