General description

A single polypeptide chain of 394 amino acids and three carbohydrate side chains linked to asparagine residues present at about 290 mg/100 ml in acute phase plasma. Serine protease inhibitor that also acts as a major physiological regulator of elastase. Inhibitor of neutrophil elastase, cathepsin G, and proteinase 3.

Preparation Note

Prepared from plasma that has been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution aliquot and freeze (-70°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at -70°C.

Analysis Note

>=75% inhibition with active-site titrated porcine trypsin using benzoyl-Arg-p-nitroanilide (Bz-Arg-pNA) as the substrate.
