Serine protease inhibitor that also acts as a major physiological regulator of elastase. Inhibitor of neutrophil elastase, cathepsin G, and proteinase 3.

>=75% inhibition with active-site titrated porcine trypsin using benzoyl-Arg-p-nitroanilide (Bz-Arg-pNA) as the substrate.
