General description

Centrimide Nalidixic Agar Kit contains
ReadyPlate CN Agar plates of 55mm diameter is a selective and differential chromogenic culture medium. It is a standard medium in water testing for simultaneous isolation and enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from water samples. Gelatine peptone and Casein hydrolysate supply amino acids and other complex nitrogenous substances. In the presence of Cetrimide (a selective agent that acts as a quaternary ammonium cationic detergent), the growth of bacterial cells other than P. aeruginosa is inhibited due to the release of nitrogen and phosphorous. Nalidixic acid present in the supplement also improves the inhibition of the accompanying microbial flora. The amount of potassium sulphate and magnesium chloride enhances the pigment production of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
EZ-Pak Filters are ready-to-use, sterile filters made of Mixed cellulose esters (MCE) with 0.45 μm pore size, white, gridded and 50mm diameter. These filters possess high recoveries.

Application

Centrimide Nalidixic Agar Kit contains 55mm plates with EZPAK 0.45 μm white gridded membrane for the simultaneous enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa using the Membrane Filtration method in water samples
