General description

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + LTHTh - ICR in 90 mm settle plates (non-lockable) is a selective media for the determination of the total count of yeasts and molds in air via active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel in critical clean room classes or isolators. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones) which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is added as the energy and carbon source. The low pH favours fungal growth. Lecithin, polysorbate (Tween®) 80, histidine and sodium thiosulfate are neutralizers to inactivate residues of disinfectants. In addition, the medium contains irradiation resistant antibiotics to inhibit the accompanying bacterial flora. To differentiate Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) from Sabouraud Dextrose agar (SDA), SDA ICR media are filled in pink colored dish.

Application

Sab.Dex.A sel. +LTHTh - ICR is a selective medium for cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds. The medium is used for environmental monitoring by determining the yeast and mold count in air through active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel in isolators and clean rooms.
