General description
MC-MediaPad® is designed to ensure hygiene control in the food and beverage industry. Itsimplifies the process of detecting and enumerating Enterobacteriaceae, acommon quality indicator of food contamination. The MC-MediaPad® is a pre-sterilized, ready-to-use dry culture device, minimizing waste andsimplifying testing procedures. It contains a unique adhesive sheet, a test padcoated with medium and water absorption polymer, and a transparent cover film. The selective medium,pH indicator, and redox indicator enable specific and reliable detection. Uponinoculation, the sample diffuses through the pad via capillary action, automatically reconstituting the medium. The distinctive color change frompurple to red coloured colonies with a yellow zone in the test pad provides aclear visual indication of the presence of Enterobacteriaceae spp. presence.
Application
MC-Media Pad® is used for the enumeration andselective detection of Enterobacteriaceae spp in food samples from the food andbeverage industry.
Analysis Note
Count the red-coloured colonies with a yellow zone only. Colonies without the yellow zone should be ignored. In case of any difficulty in identifying the yellow zone, kindly count under a bright desk lamp or in a brighter environment.
