General description

The Turbiquant 1100 T is particularly suited for on-the-spot measurements as it is battery-operated. The robust carry-case and the waterproof casing offer additional protection. The turbidimeter contains a tungsten lamp emitting white light according to the requirements of USEPA Method 180.1 and APHA-AWWA-WPCF. Within seconds, the nephelometric turbidity of a sample (NTU/FNU) can be measured. The instrument can be calibrated using the respective Turbidiquant Calibration Standard Set.

Application

  • A microfluidic-based quantitative analysis system for the multiplexed genetic diagnosis of human viral infections using colorimetric loop-mediated isothermal amplification.: This study presents a microfluidic system combined with turbidimetric measurement for the rapid and multiplexed detection of human viral infections. The use of turbidimetry in this context allows for precise and efficient analysis, enhancing diagnostic capabilities in clinical settings (Natsuhara et al., 2024).

  • Direct Measurement of Aerosol Liquid Water Content: A Case Study in Summer in Nanjing, China.: This research employs a turbidimeter to measure aerosol liquid water content, providing critical insights into air quality and environmental health. The findings highlight the importance of accurate water content measurements in aerosols for environmental monitoring and policy-making (Li et al., 2024).

  • MiniRead: A simple and inexpensive do-it-yourself device for multiple analyses of micro-organism growth kinetics.: This article introduces MiniRead, a DIY device incorporating turbidimetry to analyze microorganism growth. The device′s affordability and efficiency make it a valuable tool for research in microbiology and biotechnology, particularly in resource-limited settings (Falque et al., 2024).

  • Development of a rapid detection method for the macrolide resistance gene in Mycobacterium avium using the amplification refractory mutation system-loop-mediated isothermal amplification method.: The study utilizes turbidimetry in the detection method for macrolide resistance genes in Mycobacterium avium, demonstrating its potential in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and speed in microbiological research (Inagaki et al., 2024).

  • Development of a Frugal, In Situ Sensor Implementing a Ratiometric Method for Continuous Monitoring of Turbidity in Natural Waters.: This paper describes the creation of an in situ turbidimeter for continuous monitoring of water turbidity using a ratiometric method. The sensor′s design prioritizes cost-effectiveness and reliability, making it suitable for extensive environmental monitoring applications (Sanchez et al., 2023).
