General description

The Spectroquant® Tin Cell Test (1.17265) allows the accurate quantification of tin ions in various aqueous matrices. The mechanism is as follows: In the presence of a cationic surfactant at low (acidic) pH, tin(IV) reacts with pyrocatechol violet to form a blue complex that is determined photometrically.

The kit comprises all required reagents to perform analysis, test procedure is described in the instruction leaflet. Optional consumables for sample preparation may be purchased separately: to ensure the correct pH and range of concentration (to avoid photometric readings above or below the measurement range), MQuant® test strips can be used for pre-testing a sample for interferences and to estimate the concentration in an economic and quick way prior to using a quantitative method such as the Spectroquant® test kit.

All our cell and reagent test kits are equipped with the unique Live ID (2D barcode) which allows seamless method recognition and contains essential information (e. g. lot number, expiry date and automatic calibration adjustments). The Spectroquant® cell tests are provided as prefilled 16 mm round cells.
