General description

The MRS broth facilitates luxuriant growth of Lactobacilli species from various sources, such as dairy products, faecal matter, and others. It contains polysorbate, acetate, magnesium, and manganese, which are known to act as special growth factors for Lactobacilli, as well as a rich nutrient base. Sodium acetate and ammonium citrate inhibits the growth of Streptococci, molds, and many other microorganisms.

Application

MRS broth media is specially designed for the isolation and cultivation of Lactobacillus species from a variety of sources, while inhibiting the growth of other competing microorganisms

Features and Benefits

  • Safe and sustainable due to reduced risks associated with fine dust and toxic substance inhalation, resulting in a safer work environment
  • Excellent wettability, solubility, and free flowing properties
  • Convenient, with minimal component separation and clumping, even under warm or humid conditions
  • High batch-to- batch reproducibility
  • Prolonged shelf life of up to five years
  • High number of test strains exceeding all regulatory demands
  • Granulation technology allowing many supplements to be included, with no need to add these separately
