General description

MQuant® Litmus paper blue is suitable to monitor a pH change from alkalinic to acidic. The paper changes its color from blue (above pH 8.3) to red (below 4.5). Litmus is a natural product; it is the oldest form of pH indicator absorbed on paper. This is why litmus paper is still broadly used as a synonyme for other pH papers, eventhough these are impregnated with other, mostly synthetic, indicator dyes. pH indicator papers supplied in rolls are better suited for longterm storage, since they are protected against external influences. For a semi-quantitative monitoring of the pH value, please refer to our MQuant® pH-indicator papers or strips and for a quantitative measurement to our Reflectoquant® test strips.
