General description

GranuCult® prime Brilliant-green bile Lactose broth contains brilliant green and bile as the inhibitory agents for Gram-positive organisms. Lactose is a carbon source, which is dissimilated rapidly by the coli-aerogenes group, mostly by the heterofermentative pathway, leading to gas formation. It is a widespread practice to perform preliminary MPN tests using a less selective medium such as Lauryl Sulfate broth (1.10266) acc. ISO 4831 and FDA‑BAM and confirm any tube showing a positive reaction by subculture to BRILA broth. The medium is also used for confirmation after pour plating with Violet Red Bile Lactose agar acc. ISO 4832 and FDA‑BAM.

Application

GranuCult® prime BRILA (Brilliant-green bile Lactose) broth is suitable for the selective enrichment, enumeration, and confirmation of Escherichia coli and other fecal coliform organisms from food and animal feed, water, and other materials.

Features and Benefits

  • GranuCult® offers superior granulated culture media
  • Safe and sustainable due to reduced risks associated with fine dust and toxic substance inhalation, resulting in a safer work environment
  • Excellent wettability, solubility, and free-flowing properties
  • Convenient, with minimal component separation and clumping, even under warm or humid conditions
  • High batch-to-batch reproducibility
  • Prolonged shelf life of up to five years
  • High number of test strains exceeding all regulatory demands
  • Granulation technology allows many supplements to be included, with no need to add these separately

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
