General description

MUP Selective Supplement contains lithium mupirocin in lyophilized form. Lithium mupirocin selectively inhibits the growth of typical lactic acid bacteria from dairy products, such as Lactobacilli, Lactococci, Streptococci and Leuconostocs, while Bifidobacteria can grow uninhibited.

Application

MUP Selective Supplement is used as a supplement for the preparation of TOS-MUP agar. It is suitable for the enumeration of Bifidobacteria in Dairy products (probiotics, yoghurts, yoghurt like products, and dried milk products such as Bifidobacteria containing infant milk formulae).
