General description

Calcineurin/PP2B is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase involved in the mediation of signal tranduction in a wide variety of cellular responses. Calcineurin/PP2B has been linked to Pmk1 MAP kinase and PI pathways, as well as to members of the small GTPase Rab/Ypt family and Type II myosin. Furthermore, calcineurin participates in the transduction of extracellular signals to the nucleus by dephosphorylation of members of the NFAT family of transcription factors. These linkages demonstrate calcineurin/PP2B′s multifunctional capabilities in the regulation of calcium signaling.

Specificity

Broad reactivity with mammal species is expected.
Recognizes both the catalytic A and regulatory B subunits of calcineurin, a calcium- and calmodulin-dependent protein phosphatase.

Immunogen

Purified bovine brain calcineurin.

Application

Detect Calcineurin using this Anti-Calcineurin Antibody validated for use in WB, IH(P) & IP.
Immunohistochemisty (paraffin): Representative testing from a previous lot. Calcineurin representative staining pattern/morphology in human vascular tissue. Tissue was pretreated with citrate pH 6, antigen retrieval. A previous lot of this antibody was diluted to 1:100, using IHC-Select Detection with HRP-DAB.

Immunoprecipitation: 3 μL per reaction of a previous lot of this antibody was used in Immunoprecipitation.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C in undiluted aliquots from date of receipt; at this temperature the solution will remain unfrozen.
Handling Recommendations: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerolcontaining solutions to become frozen during storage. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerolcontaining solutions to become frozen during storage.

Analysis Note

Control
PC3 cell lysate
