General description

Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) is a single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor family and is comprised of 14 LRR repeats and a single TIR domain. TLR2 interacts with LY96 or TLR1 to regulate innate immune response to bacterial lipoproteins and other components of the microbial cell wall. It induces the activation of NFκB, inflammatory response and cytokine secretion through interactions with MYD88 and TRAF6. It may also function as a promoter for apoptosis. High expression of TLR2 has been reported in blood leukocytes, specifically in bone marrow, lymph node, monocytes and spleen. It has also been observed in fetal liver and lung tissues. Modifications in gene expression have been implicated in an increased susceptibility to leprosy.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the extracellular domain of TLR2.

Immunogen

Epitope: Extracellular Domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the extracellular domain of human TLR2.

Application

Anti-TLR2 Antibody is an antibody against TLR2 for use in WB, IH(P).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a previous lot detected TLR2 in normal human placenta tissue.
