General description

Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is a regulatory protein found in cardiac muscle tissue and plays a critical role in muscle contraction. It is released into the bloodstream following myocardial injury, making it a highly specific and sensitive biomarker for cardiac muscle damage. Elevated levels of cTnI are a key indicator of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and are widely used in the diagnosis and risk stratification of patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Due to its high cardiac specificity and prolonged elevation post-injury, cTnI is considered a gold-standard biomarker for detecting even minor myocardial damage. High-sensitivity assays enable earlier detection of cardiac events, improving clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Although cTnI was detectable in non-human primate, mouse, rat, canine and equine samples, the assay has not been verified for these species.

Features and Benefits

  • Ultra-Low Detection Limits: Enables femtogram-level detection of cardiac troponin I, allowing early identification of myocardial injury.
  • Expanded Dynamic Range: Accurately quantifies both baseline and elevated cTnI levels, supporting a wide range of research applications.
  • Targeted Research Applications: Ideal for studies in cardiovascular disease, drug-induced cardiotoxicity, and cardiac safety assessment.
  • Streamlined Lab Operations: Automation-compatible reagents reduce manual handling and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Robust Performance: Delivers consistent, high-quality results for preclinical and translational research.
