General description

C16-02:0 DG, also known as 1-O-hexadecyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycerol (HAG), is an alkylacylglycerol containing primary alcohol group at the C3 position.

Application

C16-02:0 DG or 1-O-hexadecyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycerol (HAG) may be used to inhibit the formation of 1-O-acyl-NAS.

Biochem/physiol Actions

C16-02:0 DG or 1-O-hexadecyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycerol (HAG), is a protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor and diacylglycerol (DAG) antagonist. It exhibits growth inhibitory activity against human promyelocytic leukemia cell line HL-60. HAG acts as a precursor in the biosynthesis of platelet-activating factor via remodeling and retroconversion de novo pathway.
