General description
15:0 Coenzyme A, also known as pentadecanoyl Coenzyme A, is a coenzyme A derivative of pentadecanoic acid. 15:0 Coenzyme A is a long-chain acyl CoA and the product of the first round of β-oxidation. It is a substrate for serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT) for de novo synthesis of C17-long chain bases.
Application
15:0 Coenzyme A has been used as a constituent of reaction cocktail in microsomal serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT) assay.

Isotope labels are frequently used tools to track metabolites through complex biochemical pathways and to discern the mechanisms of enzyme-catalyzed reactions. Isotopically labeled l-serine is often used to monitor the activity of the first enzyme in sphingolipid biosynthesis, serine palmitoyltransferase

Applied microbiology and biotechnology, 100(16), 7239-7248 (2016-06-09)
Acyl-CoAs are crucial compounds involved in essential metabolic pathways such as the Krebs cycle and lipid, carbohydrate, and amino acid metabolisms, and they are also key signal molecules involved in the transcriptional regulation of lipid biosynthesis in many organisms. In
