General description

18:1 PI(11)P (1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-myo-inositol-5′-phosphate)) is an ammonium salt of modified lipid. Approximately 0.5% of total phosphoinositides (PI) in mammalian cells consists of PI5P.
Inositol phospholipid species are membrane-bound signaling molecules that have been implicated in almost all aspects of cellular physiology, including cellular growth, metabolism, proliferation, and survival.

Application

18:1 PI(11)P (1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-myo-inositol-5′-phosphate) (ammonium salt)) has been used in protein−lipid overlay assay. It may be used in liposome preparation and in liposome preparation for liposome pull-down experiments.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylinositol 5-phosphate (PI5P) is known to control chromatin organization and gene expression. It can also act as a coordinator of actin cytoskeleton, membrane trafficking and signaling. It participates in autophagy.

Proteins are transported among eukaryotic organelles along the cytoskeleton in membrane carriers. The mechanism regarding the motility of carriers and the positioning of organelles is a fundamental question in cell biology that remains incompletely understood. Here, we find that Dopey1

Phosphoinositides function as lipid signals in plant development and stress tolerance by binding with partner proteins. We previously reported that Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C2 functions in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of

In most eukaryotes, phosphoinositides (PIs) have crucial roles in multiple cellular functions. Although the cellular levels of phosphatidylinositol 5-phosphate (PI5P) and phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PI(3,5)P2) are extremely low relative to some other PIs, emerging evidence demonstrates that both lipids are crucial

Phosphoinositides represent a major class of lipids specifically involved in the organization of signaling cascades, maintenance of the identity of organelles and regulation of multiple intracellular trafficking steps. We previously reported that phosphatidylinositol 5-monophosphate (PI5P), produced by the Shigella flexneri
