General description

18:0-22:6 PG or 1-stearoyl-2-docosahexaenoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol) is a sodium salt of glycerophospholipid, with substitution of stearic acid, docosahexaenic acid and phospho-rac-(1-glycerol) at the sn-1, sn-2 and sn-3 positions respectively, in the glycerol backbone.

Application

18:0-22:6 PG or 1-stearoyl-2-docosahexaenoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol) (sodium salt) has been used as a standard in bilayer vesicles for the systematic analysis of different oxidized phospholipid (Ox-PL) patterns by oxidation of PL vesicles using a Cu2+ solution. It has also been used in liposomes, to serve as an acidic phospholipid control and to determine the lipid-binding properties of the Praja-1 protein and also its E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase action.

Oxidized low density lipoproteins (Ox-LDLs) have an important role in the development of age-related vascular disease, such as atherosclerosis. Ox-LDLs are defined as oxidatively modified LDLs in the blood by enzymatic or non-enzymatic oxidation of phospholipids (PLs). For the characterization

Serotonin transporter (SERT) is involved in serotonergic system regulation and in the pathophysiology/therapeutics of serotonin-/SERT-related diseases such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, autism, and schizophrenia. We recently revealed that diacylglycerol (DG) kinase (DGK) δ induces ubiquitination/degradation of SERT in a DGK
