  4. What solvents can be used to dissolve Product D28000, Diazald®?

    According to the 13th edition of the chemicals encyclopedia published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, it is soluble in ether, petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride. It is also soluble in ethanol.

  5. Is Diazald, Product No. D28000 product light-, moisture-, or heat-sensitive?

    Per the MSDS, this product is light- and heat-sensitive. It may decompose and ignite when stored at a temperature above 40oC.

  6. Can Product D28000, Diazald®, be used in mutagenesis studies?

    Product D28000 (Diazald®) is the suggested alternative for MNNG (1-methyl-3-nitroso-1-nitroguanidine), which has been used for mutagenesis experiments. Unfortunately, Sigma-Aldrich has not tested the affect of Diazald® as a mutagenic agent. It is structurally distinct from MNNG. Products N4766 and N1517 (N-nitroso-N-methylurea), which are recommended for work in mutagenesis, might be more suitable alternatives than product D28000.
