Application

Dodecanedioic acid can be used as a reactant in the:
  • Solvent-free synthesis of biobased polyester polyols by reacting with 1,4-pentanediol.
  • Arylboronic acid-catalyzed direct condensation with ureas to synthesize N,N′-diacyl-2-imidazolidones.
It can also be used as a catalyst for the allylation of benzoquinones to synthesize lapachol using allyl alcohols or acetates.

General description

Dodecanedioic acid (DDA) is a medium-chaindicarboxylic fatty acid commonly used in the production of polyamidenylon-6,12. This material is recognized for its resistance to heat andchemicals, making it suitable for various technical applications, such as heatand chemical-resistant sheaths.
