Application

  • Activated carbons are internally porous microcrystalline, non-graphitic forms of carbon. The activated carbons possess large surface area (~1000 m2/g) and pore volumes which make them useful for applications in energy storage devices, catalysis, and for removal of impurities from gases and liquids.
  • NORIT® SX Plus CAT is a powdered activated carbon designed for use as carrier of precious metals in liquid phase pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis. Its unique raw material enhances the metal dispersion over its surface area which reduces the need of metal to achieve the same catalytic activity.
  • The high porosity of NORIT® SX Plus CAT results in a high adsorption capacity for a large range of impurities originating from both the reactants and by-products. Adsorption of impurities improves the purity of the end product and overcomes the issue of catalyst poisoning and leads to longer catalyst life. The NORIT® SX Plus CAT possesses narrow particles size distribution which leads to enhancement in filtration process and reduces the processing time.
