General description

Aluminum hydroxide hydrate, also known as alumina trihydrate (ATH). It is utilized in a wide variety of applications, serving as an adsorbent, emulsifier, ion-exchanger, and catalyst.

Application

Aluminum hydroxide hydrate can be used:
  • To fabricate Zn anodes for rechargeable aqueous batteries. It helps to form hybrid protective layer to form dendrite free electrode.
  • To prepare flame retardant composites. The addition of ATH led to a substantial decrease in heat and smoke release, as well as a reduction in the generation of harmful volatile compounds during the combustion of asphalt.
  • To fabricate coating material for battery separators for Li-ion batteries.
