General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Find details here.

Application

Tin Telluride (SnTe) is a IV-VI semiconductor with an energy band gap of 0.18 eV at 300K. It can be used as a thermoelectric material, which can be used in the conversion of heat into electricity. It can be doped with indium and calcium to achieve a thermoelectric figure of merit, ZT of ~1.65 at 840 K and a power factor of ~47 μW cm-1 K-2.
