General description
1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethyl sulfate is a water-miscible, aprotic room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL). It can be prepared by reacting 1-methylimidazole with diethyl sulfate.
Application
[EMIM][ESO4] has been used to study its effect:
- As a solvent on the thermal stability of lysozyme.
- As an additive on potassium hydroxide (KOH) electrolyte properties and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) reaction kinetics.
