Application

A high-energy, new battery system using only inorganic constituents has been designed where Li and LiCoO2 serve as the electrodes in a LiAlCl4-in-SO2 liquid electrolyte. Has been studied for cell performance characteristics and reaction products of LiAlCl4 and LiGaCl4 in a variety of battery systems.
Used in studies of electrochemical cell reactions.
