General description

tert-Butyl hydroperoxide is an organic peroxide, used in oxidation processes.

Application

tert-Butyl hydroperoxide may be used in:
osmium catalyzed vicinal hydroxylation of olefins under alkaline conditions[1]
catalytic asymmetric oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides using binaphthol as a chiral auxiliary[2]
oxidation of dibenzothiophenes[3]
