General description

Made using premium Eastman PETG + Multi-wall Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs). 3DXNano CNT enchanced compounds are used in critical applications that require electrostatic discharge(ESD) protection and a high level of cleanliness. Manufatuered with consistency in mind-3DXTech uses a proprietary formulation of virgin Eastman PETG (Polyethylene Terephtalate Glycol Copolymer) resin; multi-wall carbon nanotubes; and process/dispersion modifiers in order to give you the best possible printing experience.

Benefits of PETG include:

  • Superior Chemical Resistance vs. ABS
  • Amorphous: Low and near isotropic shrinkage
  • Low moisture absorption: 3x lower vs. ABS
  • Very low odor emitted during printing
  • Superior ductility vs. ABS
  • Wide processing range: 230 - 270 °C

Benefits of CNTs include:

  • Consistent surface resistivity
  • low additive loading rates
  • Improved retention of impact & elongation
  • Low particulate contamination
  • Minimal contribution to outgassing and ionic contamination
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product belongs to Enabling category of greener alternatives thus aligns with "Design for energy efficency". Carbon nanotubes are ideal materials due to its impressive material properties such as mechanical strength, thermal and electrical conductivity. Click herefor more information.

Application

This product can be used in material extrusion 3D printing technique.

Preparation Note

Target conductivity for 3DXNano ESD PETG:

  • 107 to 109 ohm surface resisitivity on 3DP sample using concentric ring test method.

Note: Internal studies have indicated that increased extruder temperatures can achieve higher levels of conductivity. Likewise; lower extruder temperatures have resulted in lower levels of conductivity. Each printer is set-up differently as well as varied part geometry. Therefore; expect some trial time to understand how this filament works in your specific printer/application. However; please do not exceed 270 °C to reduce teh risk of polymer degradation.

Recommended Print Conditions:

  • Extruder: Ideally 230 to 250 °C; up to 270 °C
  • Platform Temp: 70 to 90 °C; up to 100 °C
  • Platform Prep: Clean glass w/ Kapton Tape
  • Raft; We recommend printing without a raft or using another filamenet such as ABS or HIPS for easy release. Additionally; we recommened allowing the print to cool before attempting to remove it from teh build platform. PETF sticks very well and you may deform the part if you attempt to remove it before the part has completely cooled.
