    This product is not soluble. It can be swelled in organic solvents such as methanol or acetonitrile.

    One can usually start with 40-50% chloroform in methanol and see if that cleans the resin. If not, try increasing the chloroform content gradually until it is 100%.

    It is prepared by the reaction of silica gel with n-octadecyltrichlorosilane. After hydrolysis of the unreacted chloro groups, silanol groups on the silica are blocked with trimethylsilyl groups.
