General description

2-Methylaziridine forms adduct with [60]fullerene, which on copolymerization with Novolac, Epon and Bisphenol A yields three dimensional polymers containing [60]fullerene with low coefficients of friction and good wear properties.

Application

2-Methylaziridine has been used in the synthesis of:
  • new metallacycles and carbine complexes
  • polyurethanes (thermoresponsive polymer) via copolymerization with supercritical CO2
