Consistent pure water quality
To optimally support consistent calibrations and clinical testing, Milli-Q® CLX systems produce consistent-quality purified water that complies with feed water specifications for clinical analyzers. Purified water quality typically complies with CLSI GP 40 ED5-2024 guidelines for Clinical Laboratory Reagent Water (CLRW) and Special Reagent Water (SRW).
Reliability is achieved through a thoughtfully designed water purification chain that incorporates patented water purification technologies and multiple water quality sensors. For additional bacterial control, a sanitary sampling valve is available as an option.
A key component of the purification chain is the unique Elix® electrodeionization (EDI) module. Elix® EDI provides consistently high-quality pure water with the benefits of:
- No additional consumables compared to standard EDI, which requires additional consumables such as degasser and conditioning cartridges
- No resistivity drops compared to a standard deionization (DI), which requires frequent and costly cartridge replacements.
The Elix® EDI module requires only a small electric field that continuously regenerates the ion-exchange resins.

Free up lab space with a compact (≤0.5 m2 footprint) water system. The vertical system design combines production, storage and distribution to analyzers, with an optional manual purified water dispenser.
