General description

微管由微管蛋白和其他几种名为微管相关蛋白 (MAPs)的蛋白质组成。微管蛋白是一种异二聚体，由一条α-链和β-链所组成，而两者的分子量均约为55,000。微管在分裂间期可形成精细的细胞质网络，并在细胞分裂期间重组成有丝分裂纺锤体。
微管蛋白是一种极度保守的带负电荷的蛋白质。它可以在所有真核细胞中表达，不过主要在脑中表达。
