General description
I型胶原蛋白α1（COL1A1）由位于人类染色体17q21.33上的基因编码。它是人体中最丰富的细胞外基质（ECM）蛋白。1型胶原蛋白是骨骼、肌腱、皮肤和角膜的主要结构蛋白。编码的蛋白质是由两条α1 链和一条 α2 链组成的异源三聚体。
胶原存在于细胞外基质中，并含有长度不同的链。
