Biochem/physiol Actions
基质金属蛋白酶 9（MMP9）是一种明胶酶，可催化明胶和胶原蛋白的降解，并优先受金属蛋白酶 1（TIMP-1）的组织抑制剂的抑制。MMP9 蛋白是锌依赖性蛋白酶，负责细胞外基质成分的降解。它还参与癌症的发病机理。MMP9 在体外和体内都与多种疾病有关，例如囊性纤维化、急性肺损伤、哮喘以及呼吸道合胞病毒感染。MMP-9 参与系统性红斑狼疮、类风湿性关节炎和多发性硬化症等多种自身免疫性疾病，并视为潜在的治疗靶点。MMP-9 基因突变与腰椎间盘突出症（LDH）和干骺端发育不良（MAD）有关。
