生化/生理作用
基质金属蛋白酶 9(MMP9)是一种明胶酶,可催化明胶和胶原蛋白的降解,并优先受金属蛋白酶 1(TIMP-1)的组织抑制剂的抑制。MMP9 蛋白是锌依赖性蛋白酶,负责细胞外基质成分的降解。它还参与癌症的发病机理。MMP9 在体外和体内都与多种疾病有关,例如囊性纤维化、急性肺损伤、哮喘以及呼吸道合胞病毒感染。MMP-9 参与系统性红斑狼疮、类风湿性关节炎和多发性硬化症等多种自身免疫性疾病,并视为潜在的治疗靶点。MMP-9 基因突变与腰椎间盘突出症(LDH)和干骺端发育不良(MAD)有关。
