一般描述
Interleukin 1 (IL-5) exists as a homodimer and elicits its cytokine functions via interleukin receptor (IL-5R). It mediates the maturation of eosinophils. IL-5 also exhibits pleiotropic effects on B cells favoring cell survival and differentiation. Due to its key role in eosinophilia and immune response, IL-5 serves as a potential therapeutic target in treating eosinophil-mediated disorders. The Human IL-5 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human interleukin (IL-5) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

IL-5 was originally defined as a T-cell-derived cytokine that triggers activated B cells for terminal differentiation into antibody-secreting plasma cells, at least in mice. Concurrently, IL-5 was recognized as the major maturation and differentiation factor for eosinophils in mice and

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), the most frequent symptomatic primary immune deficiency in humans, is a heterogeneous group of immunologic disorders estimated to affect 1:10,000-1:50,000. Although a clear disease etiology remains elusive, a common characteristic of CVID is deficient IgG Ab
