Biochem/physiol Actions

白血病抑制因子（LIF）是一种多效性糖蛋白，它能够抑制小鼠骨髓白血病细胞系M1的增殖，同时诱导其分化成巨噬细胞。人和小鼠LIF具有78％的序列同源性。人LIF可以激活小鼠细胞，但小鼠LIF不能激活人体细胞。

    The partial sequence is reported on the SwissProt website under the accession number P09056. The recombinant has 1 more amino acid but the supplier has kept details as proprietary.

    The protein is expressed in E. coli as a GST-tagged fusion protein.  After purification, the tag is removed by thrombin treatment to product the final protein sequence.

  5. Is Leukemia Inhibitory Factor, Product L5158, the same as the LIF from Chemicon?

    Chemicon holds the patent for manufacture of mouse recombinant LIF.  The product from Sigma-Aldrich is identical to that from Chemicon.
