生化/生理作用

溶质载体家族16成员1 (SLC16A1) 基因编码质子耦合单羧酸转运蛋白。这种蛋白催化多种单羧酸的转运，包括乳酸、丙酮酸、乙酰乙酸、β-羟丁酸和乙酸，是营养物质正常同化的必需蛋白。它在基底样乳腺癌中与乳酸脱氢酶共表达。它有在肿瘤细胞中表达。它可作为高风险神经母细胞瘤的潜在治疗靶点。SLC16A1突变会引起严重的酮症酸中毒，特征是酮体的肝内生成和肝外利用失衡。
