Biochem/physiol Actions

棉酚是一种男性抗生育剂以及PAF的拮抗剂/抑制剂。棉酚（Gossypol）是一种在棉籽中发现的有毒色素，其名称来源于棉花植物的植物学名称，Gossypium。Gossypium是从两种Gossypium（多毛棉和巴巴丁棉）之间选择的杂交种中提取的。 作为PAF的拮抗剂/抑制剂，Gossypium可显著抑制白三烯B4、白三烯D4和PAF-乙醚刺激的豚鼠肺实质条带的收缩反应。

General description

棉酚被视为抗生育剂。在棉籽中以黄色色素存在。该反应性倍半萜烯醛存在于锦葵科植物中，分子量为518.54。
