一般描述

乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)是一种多元酸,用作金属螯合剂。由4个羧基和2个氨基组成,孤对电子可螯合钙等多种金属离子。 

应用

乙二胺四乙酸四钠盐二水合物已用于:
  • 使股骨脱钙,用于骨软骨组织的组织处理和染色
  • 作为NH4Cl裂解缓冲液组分,用于红细胞裂解和整体鉴定
  • 分离小鼠结缔组织隐窝

生化/生理作用

乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)可治疗重金属离子中毒患者。EDTA可抑制金属蛋白酶活性位点的锌离子,也可抑制其他金属离子依赖性蛋白酶,如钙依赖性半胱氨酸蛋白酶。EDTA可能会干扰金属依赖性生物学过程。EDTA可抑制血小板聚集,并且是血小板计数最常用的抗凝剂。EDTA可联合其他活性试剂抑制微生物和生物膜,例如柠檬酸、醇、抗生素、聚六亚甲基双胍(PHMB)季铵等消毒剂。EDTA可用作血液学检验的抗凝剂,稳定血细胞的细胞组分和形态。 
乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)用于消除痕量重金属对酶的抑制作用,并抑制需要二价阳离子作为辅因子的酶。
