在硼酸三异丙酯存在情况下,乙二醇通过与手性1,2-氨基醇反应可用于制备螺硼酸酯。它还可以作为溶剂用于通过2,2′-联吡嗪与氯化钌(III)反应而进行的三(2,2′-联吡嗪基)氯化钌(II)制备。
